born on January. 19th, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life thanks to her expansive and imaginative imagination. Before she could write and read, she was singing her own tunes. When she was 8 when she bought the first electric guitar. Then she began singing on an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. At the time, she also recorded her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. While still in highschool, she was able to make her mark locally but dreamed about a larger stage. After graduating from high school in 1964, she swiftly went to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated presenter on television in the late '60s, was looking for a singer on his show. Parton accepted the job in 1967 and signed with RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The show ended in 1974 when her solo songs like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene began charting the collaborations they had with each other. Parton sang I Will Always love You in honor of Wagoner after the breakup. The song reached the top of the charts at. 1 for the first time in 1974.
