April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. Ross is among just a handful of female beach volleyball players to have done so. Ross is scheduled to compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross is determined to earn more than her first Olympic medal. With her age of 39, it may be Ross' final chance to take home an Olympic gold medal. However, she remains optimistic that the most important medals are within reach. Ross through NBC Boston, said that he felt confident we could be a winner when we play our best. And, I'm also going try to be a little chance. Ross born in 1982 and was raised within Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started participating in sports in Newport Harbor High School. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of activities while at Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits as a prep athlete. However she was clearly a one of a kind when it came to the second sport. During her high school career she was a middle blocker outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court per her college bio. She was named one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the year in 1999 for her efforts. In 2000, she was awarded her the Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman started their partnership in 2017, but Ross has been a prominent volleyball player for years before. She was a winner of many major events playing two partners. One of whom is an icon of volleyball. She partnered up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, as well as serving as a coach and Klineman. Kessy and Ross were strong on the world circuit, winning their first world title in 2009. They also won the Silver Medal from the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team together with Kerri Jennings claimed the gold. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor decided to retire. The pair received bronze medals in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was part of the Trojans of USC in her high school after she finished high school. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was awe-inspiring. In 2000, as a freshman she played her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA freshman of the year accolades. She also was an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans reach the Final Four. After her sophomore year, she experienced a terrible personal loss but still able to be named an All-American. In her last two seasons at the school, she helped lead the Trojans up the hill, capturing consecutive national championships. She was a superb volleyball player. She won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was a student of international relations at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter rise to the top of the field in volleyball. Ross's mother died in the year 2001. Ross was still an USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. Ross is still awed by her mother who died. Margie is a constant source of inspiration for her, on and off the beach.
